Position Basic Purpose:
Learning under minimal supervision to help/support Manufacturing Plants to setup, maintain, develop, and/or modify new or existing Automation program(s) on Automation Manufacturing equipment which include but not limited to robots, welders, benders, presses, lasers, or any other automated equipment. The incumbent will help/support setup, troubleshooting, verifying and/or launching automation Equipment to International, National and /or Company Electrical and Safety Standards. The work involves to learning and use Company practices and Standards in industrial electronics, electrical and basic machine tooling theory, as well as the ability to work, read and design electrical schematics and end use of industrial components like PLC s, HMI s, Industrial Robotics etc. this include to understand how to program these Devices to later modify or develop programs within specified process parameters of the Automation Task of these Equipment. Learning to communicate with other Company Departments and Team up like Maintenance/Engineering Departments, Purchasing etc.
Primary Accountabilities:
The Junior Controls Engineer reports directly to the NAO Regional Manufacturing Engineering CoC Automation & IT. No other associates reports directly to the Junior Controls Engineer.
The Junior Controls Engineer will support/help Benteler s Manufacturing Plants in technical matter to develop, setup, maintain, and troubleshoot program(s) or wiring of this automation Equipment and try to stay in their calculated Project cost structure of the Task.
The incumbent will understand and interpret electrical schematics and diagrams per International/National Standards/Requirements and help/support Benteler s Electrical Standards/Requirements to enforce.
The Junior Controls Engineer often support/help with Plant(s) engineering and manufacturing Operation to professionally install new equipment or movement and re-installment of existing automation equipment.
The incumbent will support/help Company Manufacturing Plants Safety and Engineering Department to develop, install and maintain equipment to International/National and Benteler s safety standards/requirements. In Projects where he/she is involved in the incumbent will help/support to enforce Benteler s Safety Requirements.
The incumbent makes recommendations to continuously improve Benteler's processes and automation equipment and possible Standards.
The incumbent will support/help in Local/Regional or Global projects in different automation Task and help to stay in their calculated cost structure.
Travel support for projects will be required. The incumbent will travel up to 30-50% to support Regional Benteler Plant(s) (US/Mexico) in different Automation Task(s).In rare instances possible travel outside the Benteler Region will be required.
The incumbent help/support Benteler s Plant(s) Engineering and Maintenance Department in the documentation of equipment, preventative maintenance, trainings recommendations, procedures and Quality related to the Automation of the Equipment which can include research, testing of new or used Parts in the Equipment and recommend Spare Parts or repair recommendations but is not limited to this Tasks.
The incumbent will support/help in Project Team(s) in all technical automation Task(s) of the Project and help the Project to stay in their Tasks.
The incumbent will only make limited decision related to the automation Task(s) and only after consultation with the NAO Manufacturing Engineering CoC Leader Automation & IT.
The incumbent will attend Automation Training Courses and should all do in his power to successful finish the Training
Job requirements:
Applicants must be a citizen/green card holder of the United States.
A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering (or similar related degree).
Entry level Job which require only strong fundamental/basic knowledge of control and electrical system design(s) and its application in automated industrial designs.
Proficient with MS Office, reading/understanding Electrical Design(s) and Schematic(s) and fundamental knowledge of Industrial Controls and Electrical and there International and National Standards.
Efficiently organize and plan work tasks to meet company goals.
Critical thinking with exceptional problem solving skills, able to work independently and in team environments and when at change resistance happen staying calm and explain the different options and there consequences .
Proactive, resourceful & highly motivated with good communication skills and ability to work in high output environment.
Ability to balance multiple projects or Tasks in timely fashion.
Career Path:
3-4 Years trained in different automation Tasks as Junior (in training) Controls Engineer and gaining experience as Controls Engineer with an Automotive Tier 1 Company,
after 3-4 Years as Junior Controls Engineer (finishing training) promoted to Controls Engineer
after additional 3-4 Years as Controls Engineer promoted to Sr. Controls Engineer
