Job Description:
The Brake Press Operator will performs all aspects of sheet metal fabrication used in production. Checks and confirms work in accordance with job specifications, procedures, quality standards and checklists. Works as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
Include but are not limited to:
o Read and interpret bills of materials (BOM) and blueprints
o Check sheet metal and sheet metal components against BOM and blueprints to confirm that raw material and finished components are correct
o Follow production schedule as assigned
o Call up appropriate program and set-up CNC turret punch to meet drawing specifications
o Operate CNC turret punch
o Change tooling as required and perform scheduled maintenance tasks (i.e. tool sharpening)
o Operate bender, shear, and break press
o Operate grinder to deburr parts
o Label all parts with part numbers and serial numbers
o Check dimensions such as gauge, height and width, holes and cut-outs against print
o Safely and properly operate forklift, hydraulic hoist, and/or other lift equipment
o Observe all company rules and policies, i.e. safety, attendance
o Participate and work in a team atmosphere
o Maintain high productivity and quality workmanship
o Suggest design and procedure improvements that improve quality, productivity, and reduce cost
o May be asked to serve on various committees
o Responsible for keeping work area(s) clean and free of clutter during work time and at the end of shift 5S time -Previous experience in a similar role
