Advanced Quality Engineer


Responsibility Level:
This position is responsible for product Launch Advance Quality Planning duties, as defined by the requirements (primarily PLUS) and applicable customer requirements. These responsibilities are typically assigned and executed for specific Launch programs. The position reports to the Advanced Quality Manager.
Typical Duties:
1. Develop the Past Problem Roadmap for Launch program.
2. Facilitate/participate in the Engineering development of Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DMEA) documents for assigned Launch programs.
3. Facilitate/participate in the Manufacturing development of Process Flows (PF) and Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) documents for assigned Launch programs.
4. Facilitate and assure development of Design and Process Control Plans. These shall be based on customer requirements, Characteristic Matrix and FMEAs.
5. Facilitate and assure development of appropriate Measurement System Analysis (MSA) plan for the Launch. Identify appropriate statistical tools and techniques required for assessing process capability and verify all measuring devices are included on the Control Plan and PDfSS Scorecard.
6. Ensure preparation and on-time delivery of new product Launch related Customer Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) packages.
7. Ensure that Launch related Customer, internal and supplier quality corrective actions (8D's) meet the required timing, quality and format.
8. Ensure initial capability studies are properly performed and documented for initial builds and product changes affecting special characteristics, and that Customer and internal requirements are met (or a written Customer deviation is obtained).
9. Ensure compliance to all applicable quality Customer-specific systems and requirements.
10. Ensure IMDS compliance, where applicable.
11. Attend all System Simultaneous Development Team meetings and provide required quality documents per program timing.
12. Facilitate/participate in Engineering Design Reviews of specifications and drawings related to the system and develop the Characteristic Matrix.
13. Assist/support Supplier Quality Engineer, as needed, including supplier selection, kick-off meetings and process sign-off.
14. Support DV/PV builds and verify that parts meet dimensional and functional requirements.
15. Ensure the appropriate inspection plans and containment plans are developed for Launch.
16. Lead Internal Audits, report audit findings and ensure timely close out of any required corrective actions.
17. Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
CANDIDATES MUST HAVE THE FOLLOWING QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION:
Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree in Quality, Engineering, or Science related field with 5-7 years of related work experience.
o Experience with ISO/QS/TS Quality Systems is required. Lead Auditor certification is highly desirable.
o Experience in Advanced Quality Planning including strong proficiency with the AIAG Advanced Quality Planning and Control Plan, FMEAs, PPAPs, MSA and Statistical Process Control (SPC) standards.
o Knowledge of statistical concepts, design of experiments and problem solving methodology is required. Six Sigma certification or equivalent experience is required. Black Belt certification and experience with Minitab software is highly desirable.
o Knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing methods is highly desirable.
o Proficient in use of a computer and common office software (i.e. Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
o Strong interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to work in a self-directed environment.
o Good mechanical/technical skills and ability to read engineering drawings are desirable. GD&T proficiency is highly desirable.
o Excellent problem solving skills, including experience preparing problem solving documents such as 8D's.
o American Society for Quality certification, such as current CQE status, is highly desirable.
o Experience working directly with customers and suppliers, particularly automotive related.
Salary $70,000 - $90,000 /year, plus relocation.Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
