Director of Nursing DESCRIPTION:
The Registered Nurse (RN) works under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) to assist with day-to-day functions within the nursing department in order to improve the efficiency of the working team and the quality of life and care provided to the residents.
The RN may function in the capacity of a Charge Nurse or Unit Manager, depending on the size and configuration of the building.
In the absence of the DON, the RN may provide oversight to the nursing staff and interdepartmental team to ensure provision of quality customer service and compliance with federal and/or state rules and regulations, as well as facility policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:
Responsible for the on-going assessment of the physical, emotional, and mental health care needs for residents under their care.
Functions as a team leader providing support to the clinical staff.
May plan and assign workload to licensed and unlicensed nursing staff.
Ensures performance of assigned duties is completed accurately and timely.
May participate in the nursing on-call rotation.
Performance Requirements:
Follows accepted nursing scope and standards of practice in accordance with the State Board of Nursing's Nurse Practice Act.
Keeps accurate, timely records of health concerns, status changes, appointment outcomes etc.
; communicating information to the Director of Nursing, ancillary service departments, ; making sure records are updated and documentation is objective, concise, accurate and timely.
Must be able to provide direct resident care services on demand.
Must be able to move about the facility to observe all areas of resident care.
Maintains confidentiality of information as it pertains to residents, employees, and vendors.
Able to balance and prioritize several projects consecutively with varying degrees of interruptions.
Strong time-management skills.
Able to manage people and systems.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Must possess strong professional written and verbal communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively, and the ability to multi-task and prioritize issues.
Strong leadership and supervision skills.
Insight to know when and how to initiate and/or implement change.
Basic computer skills including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, Power Point, and electronic health record documentation.
Able to use basic office equipment including, but not limited to telephone system, fax machines, photocopier, etc.
EDUCATION AND
Experience:
Graduate of an accredited nursing program with active, unencumbered RN license to practice nursing in the applicable state.
Experience in a long-term care facility preferred.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS:
Able to stand for extended periods of time.
See, hear or use prosthetic devices to enable use of the senses adequately.
Able to lift, move, push or pull a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
Able to sit, bend, stoop, kneel, push, pull and reach above shoulder level.
Availability to work a scheduled shift which may include weekend and holiday hours.
May participate in on-call responsibility.
Able to work in an atmosphere of frequent interruptions.
High potential for exposure to blood and body fluids, chemical and respiratory hazards, and infectious diseases.
Ability to lift 25 pounds.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
