Georgia-Pacific's Dixie Consumer Products division is seeking a 3rd Shift Converting Supervisor to join our team at the Parchment, MI Dixie manufacturing operation. The 3rd Shift Converting Supervisor, having direct supervisory responsibility for 8-10 reports, will provide expertise and leadership to drive continuous improvement of safety and compliance, quality, cost and reliability. The position will establish and reinforce the importance of applying MBM to continue Parchment's operation as world class manufacturer and distributor of Consumer Products.
Responsibilities :
o This position is responsible for providing leadership in the areas of safety, environmental compliance, customer satisfaction, organizational effectiveness, cost management and asset utilization in the Parchment operations
o Lead and mentor employees to apply Market-Based Management (MBM ) in ways that are consistent with Georgia-Pacific's Guiding Principles
o Drive process and equipment performance to improve safety, product quality, reduce spoilage, and minimize costs
o Develop personnel to make them safe and proficient in performing their job tasks
o Drive year-over-year improvement in the operations with focus on Safety, Quality, Cost, and Reliability.
3rd Shift begins at 11pm, ending at 7am - 5 days a week. There is an expectation that the Supervisor arrived early prior to the shift and stays until shift has changed over.
The ideal candidate will have demonstrated operational results with year-over-year improvement; have work experience showing leadership capabilities to move the organization; the ability to lead and develop a safety culture; proven written and verbal communication skills; proven interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively coach, develop, and manage people; proven excellence in troubleshooting skills; proficient computer skills.
Basic Qualifications :
o High School Diploma or GED
o 3 or more years of experience within a supervisory role within a manufacturing, production, industrial or military environment.
o Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
o Must be willing and available to be on call before and after hours as well as weekends when needed.
Preferred Qualifications :
o Bachelor's Degree or Higher
o Experience working within a union environment
o Experience working within a high speed converting or forming operation
